PoktWise ("we", "us", "our") is a personal finance management application. We are the data controller for the personal information you provide when you create an account and use the service.

We do not collect your bank username, password, PIN, one-time codes, or any credentials for any financial institution. All financial data is user-supplied; we have no direct connection to any bank, brokerage, or financial institution, and we bear no responsibility for the accuracy of data you upload.
We take the security of your financial data seriously and apply multiple layers of protection:
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or financial data to anyone.

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request from a court or government authority.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual accounts and their transaction history at any time from Settings → Data Management. If you close your account entirely, all your personal and financial data is permanently deleted from our active systems within 30 days. We do not retain hidden backups after account deletion.

Several US states have enacted comprehensive consumer privacy laws that grant residents additional rights beyond those described in Section 7 above. This section explains those rights by state. If you are a resident of a state listed here, these rights apply to you.
How to submit a state privacy request: Email support@poktwise.com with the subject line "State Privacy Request – [Your State]" and describe what you would like us to do. We will verify your identity before processing the request and respond within the timeframe required by your state's law.
The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), grants California residents the following rights:
Categories of personal information we collect (CCPA categories): Identifiers (email address); Financial information (transaction data and account details you upload — treated as sensitive PI); Internet/network activity (server logs, browser type); Inferences drawn from the above (spending categories and patterns).
Global Privacy Control (GPC): We honor GPC browser signals as a valid opt-out of sale and sharing of personal information.
Authorized agents: You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require written proof of authorization.
Response time: We will respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will notify you and may extend the response period by an additional 45 days (90 days total).
Appeals: If we decline your request, you may appeal by contacting support@poktwise.com. If your appeal is denied, you may contact the California Privacy Protection Agency at cppa.ca.gov.
The Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act grants Virginia residents the right to:

Universal opt-out mechanisms: We honor universal opt-out signals (including GPC) as a valid opt-out of the sale of personal data and targeted advertising.

The Connecticut Data Privacy Act grants Connecticut residents the same Access, Correct, Delete, Portability, and Opt-Out rights described above.

The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act grants Texas residents the right to Access, Correct, Delete, and obtain a Portable copy of their personal data, and to opt out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, and profiling.

PoktWise uses a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. No cookie consent banner is needed because the only cookie we set is strictly necessary for the application to function.
PoktWise is not directed to children under 13 years of age and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has registered, please contact us at support@poktwise.com and we will promptly delete the account and associated data.

All analysis, summaries, and AI-generated responses are provided for informational and organisational purposes only. We make no representation or warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose of any analysis produced by the Service.
You acknowledge and agree that your use of the Service and any reliance on data, analysis, or recommendations produced by the Service is entirely at your own risk. PoktWise expressly disclaims all liability for any financial loss, inaccurate data interpretation, missed payments, tax consequences, investment decisions, or any other harm arising from your use of the Service.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
